US forces attacked in Pakistan -McCain heads to Afghanistan?

Well it looks like McCain may have another reason to duck the debates.  The AP has reported that US Troops were fired upon while crossing the Pakistani border in helicopters.  The US troops did not return fire and returned back to the Afghanistan side of the border.

Quick Hits vol. II

Taliban being supplied by Iran. This is one of those instances that makes you ask, are we really committed to bringing a conflict to an end. Arms from Iran, cover from Pakistan, yet we stay in Afghanistan. I am no general, but cutting off supplies to the enemy would seem to make sense.
